| The 2020 ETMA Tube of the Year Award brought good news for TUBEX Aluminium Tubes: Our Blue Tube has won the Aluminium Tube category! Each year, the European Tube Manufacturers’ Association chooses the very best tubes in each of five categories. We also won our category in 2019, so we’re happy to be crowned again!
Our winning partner this year was Marmetube, a company making delicious fruit spreads that wanted tube packaging that was both highly convenient and sustainable. Made of 100% post-industrial recycled aluminium with all the practical advantages of traditional aluminium tubes, the Blue Tube was the perfect choice. By using recycled aluminium the tube uses resources responsibly and cuts carbon emissions significantly.
We’re delighted to have won this award, but we aren’t resting on our laurels: The latest addition to our Blue Tube brand, the Blue Tube Evo, already includes 95% post-consumer recycled aluminium. By deploying a robust eco-design approach including PCR integration and tubes re-engineering, we could decrease material use by up to 15% and were able to cut carbon emissions significantly.
